AHEAD – Association of Human Rights Educators

Based in Barcelona, the Association of Human Rights Educators – AHEAD has as its main mission the promotion of human rights education as a requisite to strengthen the commitment towards a culture of peace, democracy and solidarity for global justice.

AHEAD supports since 2009 initiatives and educational programmes addressing the principles of Children Rights with educators both from the formal and non formal education sectors, children, young people and adult learners developing their comeptences, promoting exchange and applying innovative methodologies and educational materials.

The association has developed for several years projects at local and international level specially linked to Human Rights and Children Rights, and is the editor in Barcelona of the Manual on Children Rights education of the Council of Europe and has published several educational materials on this very field

AidLearn – Consultoria em Recursos Humanos

AidLearn is a research-action, consulting and VET and adult training provider, operating at national and EU level. The company founded in 2003 aims to promote learning and training in various areas through innovative, needs-based services. AidLearn has extensive experience in design and development of studies and projects, often within an action-research perspective, geared towards innovation in education/training systems, able to promote organisational learning and diversification of the training offer. Being a VET provider organisation certified by DGERT for various areas of education/training, AidLearn has extensive experience in curriculum and learning content development. This expertise has been strengthened by working in transnational and multifunctional teams that have enabled the development of innovative profiles, curricula and courses, many of them addressing social inclusion and promoting equal opportunities.

APEI – Associação de Profissionais de Educação de Infância

APEI is a professional association of childhood education professionals, created in 1981, non-profit and with the status of public utility since 2007. It aims to promote the professional development of early childhood education professionals, predominantly childhood educators (but also educational assistants, psychologists, therapists, parents and caregivers, …) through a set of actions developed throughout Portugal, the discussion of curriculum in early childhood education and quality pedagogical practises. APEI collaborates with different higher education institutions responsible for the initial training of early childhood educators, and also with the Ministry of Education, in partnerships on scientific and pedagogical documents on the pedagogical work of educators of childhood and in the definition of national educational policy. It also works closely with other similar professional associations in promoting training that involves early childhood education. APEI has a very broad set of initiatives that involve a large part of the kindergarten teachers (and other professionals) throughout Portugal.

Associazione Culturale Piccabulla

Associazione Culturale Piccabulla deals with educational projects for children, in collaboration with other associations and then autonomously since 2012 in particular multi-level English language courses for children and adolescents. The respect for diversity, global citizenship and at the same time gender equality in the interactions between the students and between them and the teacher are fundamental principles included in the association’s statute, which manifest themselves in the creative methodology of theater and games that strive against competitiveness. Associazione Culturale Piccabulla also organizes educational projects and “turnkey” events for private organizations or public schools such as theater courses or sports activities aiming to promote inclusion, diversity and cultural exchange.

IPB – Instituto Politécnico de Bragança

IPB is a higher education public institution with a defined mission in creating, transmitting and diffusing technical-scientific and professional knowledge through the articulation of study, teaching, applied research and experimental development. The School of Education is one of the schools of IPB that has specificity on teacher training in Early Childhood Education and Primary Education for the last 33 years. In this context, several research projects, master’s degrees and other associated initiatives have been constantly organized and implemented, contributing to the diffusion of knowledge as well as to reinforce the advances in these areas. These projects assume a holistic vision of education that connect the curriculum, in-service and pre-service teacher education, collaborative work with educational contexts, pedagogy and didactics, and applied research to promote innovation and the quality of children’ learning and professional development.

Uniwersytet Lodzki

The University of Lodz, established in 1945, is one of the leading institutions of higher education in Poland. For decades it has been also one of the biggest and most popular Polish universities and is repeatedly ranked among the top higher education institutions in the country. Through the high amount of international exchanges, cultural diversity of both the city and the institution can be experienced. The university regularly hosts guest speakers, renowned politicians, businessmen and cultural representatives from Poland and abroad and also actively participates in many international educational and research programmes. Through various pedagogical projects for kindergartens and elementary schools, as well as the development of innovative tools, the University of Lodz has profound experiences in childhood and preschool education.
