Learning Objectives

The following learning experiences were designed specifically as complementations to the story books and how to introduce and use them with the children. They are not meant to be understood as rigid recipes that cannot be altered, but rather as sources of inspiration to create and develop further experiences beyond the ones described here. Taking into consideration the interconnectivity of all topics and dimensions of global citizenship, all the described learning experiences go beyond only one topic, and should be discovered in a way which reflects this interconnectivity.

Learning experiences:

  • Revenue sharing by families: It aims to strengthen and create family relationships and between families, to create family moments and to value the family and its cultural heritage.

Learning experiences:

  • Art gallery: The main learning objectives are the involvement of the family and local community in kindergarten experiences, the exploration of art and the materials, and empowering the children to exchange knowledge regardless of age or status.
  • Building clotheslines: It aims to talk about similarities and difference, and to explore their sense of art with the involvement of the local community in the experiences of kindergarten. Also, by sharing and valuing the children artwork.


Akiak and the egg

Learning experiences:

  • Akiak, father penguin and the egg: It has the objective that through the identification and interpretation of the character of the daddy penguin, the child experiences the feeling of care and responsibility for himself and especially someone else.
  • The seahorse love dance: By the creation of educational situation that build in the child the perception of the fluidity of the parents’ roles and the equality of interaction between them and the mutual and shared care in the family.

Picnic at the Unicorn’s

Learning experiences:

  • Picnic at the Unicorn’s: The main learning objective is to create educational situations that build the child’s sensitivity and to discover the common needs of different children.
  • Building clotheslines: It aims to talk about similarities and difference, and to explore their sense of art with the involvement of the local community in the experiences of kindergarten. Also, by sharing and valuing the children artwork.

Learning experiences:

  • Lemur’s rights: It aims To exemplify and raise awareness of one’s own rights and to connect children’s needs with children’s rights
  • Sort it out…: The main learning objective is To develop creativity and to explore all together alternative solutions to a situation of exclusion.
